Parker turns 5!!!

I cannot believe it, but my sweet little man turned 5 on September 8.  It is so hard to believe he's already 5 and he'll start Kindergarten next year!  Oh my goodness, where is the time going?

We had an awesome birthday bash for Parker . . . a petting zoo came to our house.  It was great and we had the best time!  My mom thought it would be fun to get the kids cowboy hats, but as you can see, they didn't last long.
Howdy folks!
Since we had a farm animal theme, we had hot dogs, chips, carrots and watermelon.  It was a lot of fun and each food item had a "farm name" . . . howdy hot dogs, barnyard buns, souie slaw, corny carrots, wahoo watermelon.  It all looked pretty cute with the red/white checked plates, napkins and tablecloth.

Our sweet birthday boy!

Chillin' with Hannah before the party starts!

Our attempt at a family birthday pic.

The petting zoo was awesome!  Parker and Hannah loved it and all the kids and adults had a great time.  We had a gorgeous day and lots of friends came to celebrate Parker's big day!

 Everyone loved the rabbits!

This cow was awesome . . . it was a Scottish Highlander cow.

Hannah was fascinated by the pot-bellied pig.

 Sician donkey

A few of the animals . . . cow, donkey and alpaca.

This may be the best pic ever!

 Parker's birthday cake!
My bakery gal did such an awesome job with his barn cake.  She is awesome and I have never been disappointed with any cake she had made!

Parker having birthday lunch with a few of his friends.

Hannah ate with a few of her "girl friends."

The girl on the left is one of Parker's classmates.  They have been at the same preschool for 3 years now (they are big buds).  Both she and her sister had on the cutest red, cowgirl boots!

The girls were super sweet with Parker and helped him open all his gifts.

All in all, it was another successful birthday party!  Thanks again to all who came out to help us celebrate Parker's special day!

August

We've been busy, busy, busy here at the Kleeman house.  Lots of fun things have been going on, Parker started back at preschool and the biggest . . . Hannah began her first days at preschool for the very first time!  I hope you enjoy the recap of all the fun things we did in August!

August started with our private preschool Open House.  Parker got to meet his teachers, Mrs. Melissa and Mrs. Angela and Hannah got to meet her very 1st preschool teachers, Mrs. Jennie and Mrs. Robyn!  We are so thankful that our kids have loving preschool teachers a wonderful preschool!

Parker was ready for his first day of preschool, but he had a hard time posing for a picture because he was too busy checking out his new shoes!

Parker was ready to go into preschool!
Parker had an awesome 1st day at preschool.  Thanks to our wonderful preschool teachers for being a part of Parker's learning.
Sweet, sweet Hannah on her very 1st day of preschool!  It was definitely a bittersweet moment.  She was all excited and ready to go!
She did super.  She walked right into school and right to her class.  I think she did fine because she's familiar with the preschool, since Parker has been going for a while.
Hannah had an awesome first preschool day!  So thankful for wonderful teachers and a wonderful school!

This is just the sweetest picture ever!  The kids got to walk into preschool together for the first time.  It was so cute how they both walked in with their backpacks.

Hannah loves her backpack and will just walk around the house with it on her back - it is too cute!  She will also get upset if you try to take it from her!

Sweet little Hannah turned 21 months in August!  I cannot believe in just a few short months, my sweet little girl will be 2!  It's so hard to believe!

Hannah is very feisty and very independent!  She soaks up everything like a little sponge.  She's getting lots of words:  Elmo, dada, mama, Jeek (for our doggie Jake), stawbee (for strawberry), this (for what's this), appe (for apple).  She loves to make a "roar" sound for a lion and a "cack, cack" (quack, quack) for a duck sound.  She's starting to make a doggie sound too.

She loves to help take out the silverware from the dishwasher and she loves stickers.  She loves taking the all the stickers off the sticker book page and sticking them on her, on me, on the floor, on the chair, etc.  I have found stickers all over the house!

I just can't say enough about how much we love our preschool!  My kids are always happy and excited to go!

We did find time to go to the gardens.  This could be the most precious picture ever!
We saw a super cool beetle!

On Fridays at preschool, it's Football Friday, so we get to sport our Georgia gear.  We love our Dawgs!

July 2013

I can't believe another month has passed - this summer seemed to really fly by!  Here is a recap of all we did in July.

This is one of my most favorite pics of the kids.  They are laying together watching their reading show (love Hannah's arm on Parker's leg)!
July was the month we got rid of my Volvo.  I was a little sad, because I had waited a long time to get one and we really enjoyed it.  However, we believe it was a lemon because we had 3 major repairs done throughout 15,000 miles of the car.  It was too bad, because we both thought we were getting a good one to last a while.
We traded it in and went back to our "old faithful" Camry.  I had a Camry XLE before, but this one is an SE (more sporty-looking).  We are happy with this one.  It's not a SUV, but the kids are getting a little older, so I guess we don't need as much room as the SUV provides.  It is much better on gas mileage though!
July 12 was Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A.  So, Hannah dressed like a cow and got to eat for free!
Hannah loved meeting the cow!
We took a few pics after church one Sunday.  The kids loved running around in the yard!
Brad's newest flower creation - love the elephant ears!
This is how most of our pics go - 1 cooperates and the other doesn't, hah!  Oh well, it's cute anyway.  Also, thanks to Grandma Henry for Parker's shirt and Hannah's cute dress!
July 19, Hannah turned 20 months!  I cannot believe this little girl will be 2 in a few short months!  She just seems to be growing up way too fast!  She is still a fiesty little thing, but she has started sleeping through the night - yay!
A few other things to remember Hannah at 20 months:
--she loves to look at books and she loves her stuffed animals
--she loves to help empty the dishwasher
--she's very independent
--the paci is getting phased out (only giving it to her when she sleeps)
--she's getting better at using her fork to eat her food
--her newest words are:  dog, star, purple, yellow, gosh, sit, stop, swimming (pronounced shw-min); she has a few other words she's trying to say - diaper, shoes and sock
My project this month was updating Hannah's room.  This room has been the exact same way since Parker was born, so it was time to do a little updating.  We had a big 6-drawer dresser in this room, which made the room look tiny.  I found a smaller, 3-drawer chest, switched the crib to the other side of the room, moved some furniture, dressed up the walls, and ta-da . . . Hannah's new room!

Here's the new 3-drawer chest and I moved the bookcase to the other side of the room and angled it.

I took the 3 wall hangings, above her crib and put them in shadow boxes.  I spray painted them brown and I thought they turned out pretty good!  I also made Hannah a little reading corner to the left of her crib with her rug and a little pillow.  She seems to like that!
All these were cute little finds I found and ordered online - love internet shopping!
Swimming has been the big thing around here this month.  We've gone several times to our friend's pool and the kids are having a great time!  Parker has really taken off with his swimming, since his swim lessons in June.  He absolutely loves the water!  He wears his life jacket and he can stay upright in the water now and he really kicks his legs.  We stay at the pool for about an hour and Parker swims all by himself the entire time!
Hannah had a little round float that she sat in and that worked the first time we went to the pool.  After that, she saw Parker swimming and she wanted to swim just like him.  So, I got her this new floatie and now she loves the water, just as much as Parker does.  She figured out how to float on her stomach and now she's working on kicking her legs!
We ended July with our visit to our rock star dentist, Dr. Bongiovi (pronounced BonJovi).  The kids did great and both got a great report!  Parker looks so grown up here!

Hannah did so good at the dentist - I was very proud of how well she cooperated and let the hygentist clean her teeth!

We also celebrated Brad's birthday and both Brad and I headed back to work for pre-planning this month.  Can't believe school starts in August!
